Whatton House Gardens
The 15 acres of gardens, both formal and informal, date
from the 19th century and are well worth a visit. Entry beyond the nursery
area costs £4.00 per adult with no charge for accompanied children.
Relax under ancient trees or around the expansive lawns,
wander through the arboretum, admire the magnificent borders and old-fashioned
rose garden, and discover the Chinese Garden and the bogey hole.
The gardens are open daily, except on Saturdays, from March
to October inclusive. Opening hours are normally 11.00am to 4.00pm. See
the Whatton
House website for more details, including scenes of the gardens. The
House itself is not open to the public.
